The Town of Murray has one appointed assessor. The main goals of this office are to:

• estimate the value of real property within the Town and Village, complying with the New York State real property tax laws, in order to maintain assessments at a uniform percentage of market value,

• inspect new constructions and improvements to existing structures to ensure that the physical inventory is correct and properly assessed,

• administer and approve all real property exemptions.
