Lifetime Resident Licenses |

Applicants must prove NYS residency for one year
prior to application.
Acceptable residency proofs are the same as for
annual licenses with the exception of the one-year
requirement. *When purchasing a lifetime license
for a child, the purchaser must bring a copy of the
child’s birth certificate and a copy of the parent’s
residency proof.) |

Fees for Replacement Licenses
The fee is
$5.00 for any license privilege and $10.00 for all carcass tag
sets. (i.e. lost Sportsman, Bow and Turkey Licenses would
cost the applicant $15.00 to replace the three license
privileges and $30.00 to replace the three tag sets.) A license
with bundled items like the Super Sportsman can be replaced for
$5.00 for the license and $10.00 for all the tags since they are
printed out as a set. Backtags are replaced at no cost.

Year for Hunting is October 1st – September 30th
Hunting
Licenses go on sale in mid-August and DMP’s are available
until October 1st

Round for DMP’s is November 1st. This is first
come first served
Training Requirements
(No
training is required for fishing)

Hunting
(small and big game, muzzle loading) – Previous hunting
license or a hunter education certificate is needed.

Trapping
(trapping and jr. trapping) – Previous trapping license
or trapper education course certificate is needed.

Bow hunting
(bow hunting and jr.
archery) – Both hunter education and bow hunting
training certificate is needed.
Age Requirements

MINORS:
-
Minors may fish without a license until the age 16.
When 16, minors must purchase an adult fishing
license.

Minors may not hunt without a license; minors
are eligible for junior license beginning at age 12
upon successful completion of hunter education
course.
Junior Hunting – age 12-15
Junior Archery – age 14-15

Minors may not trap without a license; minors
are eligible for junior trapping license at any age
upon successful completion of trapper training
course.
