All dogs 4
months of age or older must be licensed.
When
licensing your dog, the owner will need:

If the
dog is spayed or neutered, a certificate from the
veterinarian is needed.

All
dogs three months of age or older must have proof of a
rabies vaccination from a veterinarian.

$6.00
license fee for spayed or neutered dogs/$15.00 license fee
for unspayed or unneutered dogs
You will
receive a copy of the license and an ID tag which should be
attached to your dog’s collar. This ID number will be valid for
the life of your dog.
When
renewing a dog license, the owner will need:

The
renewal form sent to them by the Department of Agriculture
and Markets (If this renewal form is lost, the Town Clerk
can fill out a renewal form for you

If the
dog’s rabies vaccine had previously expired, proof of
current vaccination is needed.

Replacement Tags
Replacement tags can be ordered through the Town Clerk’s
office.
Cost for
a replacement tag $2.00.
The
replacement tag will be mailed directly to your home within
eight weeks of ordering.
Changing
a dog license
Any
change to the information on your dog’s license should be
reported by phone or in writing to the Town Clerk. The Town
Clerk will notify the Department of Agriculture and Markets
so that records can be updated. This will ensure the
accuracy our dog license records.
Changes
that should be reported are: Dog ownership
Dog owner’s address
Loss or theft of the dog
Death of a dog
